Charter your sailing gear today!

Limited quantities of the following gear are available for charter on a monthly basis (minimum two months).  Once you charter it, treat it as your own - keep it at your club or at home, take it away on holiday and to regattas, and look after it well.  There is a damage bond and a written charter agreement, and insurance will be your responsibility.

Far East Optimist (fibreglass one person sailing dinghy)

Measured and registered International Optimist boat which is the core of junior dinghy sailing in New Zealand and around the world.  These are the boats which are used in Learn to Race, Green Fleet (beginner) racing and Open Fleet racing at clubs everywhere.  They perform much better than the plastic Optimist boats which are used for Learn to Sail, or the older plywood Optimists which come on the market from time to time.  This means kids will get better results and have more fun, and so are more likely to stick with the sport.

Open Bic junior skiff (one person sailboat)

This is the latest addition to our charter fleet, launched in September 2018. The Open Bic is a great next step after learn to sail adn learn to race, or after a season or two of racing in Optimist.  Competitive for sailors up to 60kg, this boat looks the business and really flies with a bit of breeze. Being self bailing, you will spend your time sailing, not bailing. Tippier and more powerful than an Opti, it is not ideal for beginners.  Comes complete with helmet.  Correct pic to follow.
